A mod for Battlefront II, Legacy introduces ‘space to ground’ combat – a feature planned for the original third game – which allows players to move seamlessly between fighting soldier-to-soldier and jumping in a spacecraft to join a dogfight occurring above you. Star Wars Battlefield III Legacy aims to fill that void.
While EA’s modern iteration of Star Wars Battlefront is closer to the Battlefield games – both developed by DICE – than the third-person tactical shooters that we got in the first two games in the series, fans have been hard at work creating their own alternative third game, inspired by footage of Free Radical’s abandoned Star Wars Battlefront III that emerged a couple of years ago.
